Xuanhan XU, one of the most promising young Cellists in her generation. The First Prize winner both of the 5th David Popper International Cello Competition in Hungary (at the age of 9); and the Spanish Pablo Casals International Youth Cello Competition(At the age of 16).
Xuanhan Xu began to study piano at the age of 5 and then study the cello at the age of 8 . At the age of 9, she was enrolled by the primary music school attached to the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, where she was studying the cello under professor Jiwu Li. At the age of 11, Xuanhan Xu continued to study cello playing under Mr LiWei Qin, who is the Professor in the String Department of SCM. At the age of thirteen, Xuanhan Xu was enrolled into the prodigy class of University of Music Saarland in Germany, where she studied under professor Gustav Rivinius. In recent years, Xuanhan has received guidances from artists including Wang Jian, Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt, Gary Hoffman and so on.
Xuanhan XU has been active on major stages since 10 years old, including the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Under the Baton of Maestro Qiyuan Zhu, Xiaoying Zheng, Yi Zhang , Lv Jia and other famous conductors, Xuanhan XU has successively cooperated with major domestic symphony orchestras, including the National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra, the National Centre for the Performing Arts Orchestra, the Macao Orchestra, the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, the Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra, the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra, The Symphony Orchestra of Sichuan Conservatory of Music, the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra, the Harbin Symphony Orchestra, the Kunming Nieer Symphony Orchestra, etc., performed Tchaikovsky's Variations on the "Rococo Theme", Saint Sang's Cello Concerto in A minor, Laro's Cello Concerto in D minor, Haydn's Cello Concerto in D major and other works.
Overseas, Xuanhan XU became the only highest scholarship winner of the Summer Conservatory of Music at the RADOLFZELL International Music Festival in Germany 2018. In 2019, she has been invited to perform at the Tokyo Suntory Hall. She was twice selected for the German Broadcasting Corporation's live concert in Quande, and was invited to hold a solo concert at the famous German music festival Kammerkonzert Festival. In 2022, she was selected for the Lumiere d'Europe Music Festival in France with full prize, and performed with violinist David Grimal and cellist Gary Hoffman in concert halls such as the Little Palace in Paris.
